I want to talks about little bit of life it self. This might not be the happiest entry what I have written so far, but I just have to get this one written. I want to tell you have I feel and what should be done. I start with one of my baby poems I recently have written:

Guardian of life

“Hold my hand and shut our eyes,

I will stay here and guard you sleep,

I’m here just for you,

If you happen to see a bad dream,

You can always turn to me,

You’ll see me watching your dream.

If you don’t see me at your side,

I might be just gone, for awhile.

I will be back, I’ll promise you that.

It is my job to guard your life,

Give you the protection,

On that I’ll do my very best.

But I won’t be there forever,

That’s something you have except,

I get old and then…gone forever.

Until that day comes you can thrust,

I will be near and hold your hand.

Now sleep my baby, close your eyes

Your father is here to guard you dreams.”

Not the most riming one from my baby poems, but still. I like this one. It’s about the way life treats us. Only thing what can make our life valuable is that it will someday end. No questions about it. The idea of whole life is what we do about it. Of course we can crawl to a cave and start feeling pity of our self, but there is something else you can also do.

It’s our kids who need guidance. Think about it. If everything what we did during our life will be wiped out to eternity when the time comes…what’s the point in living? That’s why we have children in the first. Our legacy will be carried to the future through them. If we guide our children with respect through their life, they will remember us.

This is also the reason what made me write my first baby poem. It’s for my child. I can only wish that someday she can read it again and remember how much I loved her, but still I do it. If it also brings some happiness to somebody else, that’s only a bonus. I respect that too and I’ll be very happy about it, but still it’s not the primary reason.

I think there is one old song what tells that people who have been given love are able to give it away. I have a theory on this. I hope you agree the following. If every people in the world loves their children from the bottom of their heart, it well develop a butterfly effect and eventually makes world a little better place to live.

Here is what I want you to do. Love you children. If you can’t show it anyway else, write some baby poems. It doesn’t take too much time if you happened to be a busy, hard working person. You can find all the information what you need from my blog or from other places in the internet. There are some books even in real life you can search if you have the time. I don’t care how you do it…only thing what matters is that you do it!

One of my poet friends (a real poet…) said ones: “Poets are pioneers of a language.” How true. He showed me some of his writings and guess what…I didn’t understand it at all. It was in my mother thong, but still. I don’t remember what the phrase was what he showed me, it’s too long ago. What I do remember is that I understood this: regular poetry is not for me. Probably I’m just too stupid to understand it. Go figure…

At that time I started to write my own kind of poetry. Now days I call it baby poems because I have a kid. In the past it was more sadness in my writings, but after the light of my life did born the matter changed. Everything is targeted to my little one.

Anyway, I still do read some regular poetry. Its one source of my inspiration, from that I can find some ideas how to use different combinations of words in my own “work”. I don’t see the point reading modern poetry. Its still do hard to understand it. What I use are the Bible, old love poetry books, children’s poetry, some good online sources what I have found and Christianity books. All of this contains basically happiness and joy of life. Everything what I need when I’m writing.

Here is my free advice to you: if you struggle with you writings find a source of ideas. You can try those I mentioned before, but what ever suits to you. Remember, practise is the only thing in the world what creates a master. Reading source full material will help you to get started. It’s an old trick and very used on every concept even now days. Combine that to your own feelings and you have some awesome baby poems in you hands.

Like in all my posts I try to bring out some new material what I have written. If I’m talking about getting a source for you, I think it’s better to start creating one. If it happens that you don’t find anything else.

This one talks about a morning some time age. I and my daughter were sleeping in the same room. She suddenly woke up at 5am! I were little frustrated because she didn’t want to go back to sleep. So, we had a little struggle there. This poem tells you the rest.

Bad Morning

“You took the morning from me,

Did wake up too early,

Why you are still crying,

I woke up already?

Oh, let’s go do some breakfast

Forget what I ever said,

I do love you anyway,

But my eyes are still red!

My darling, stop crying,

I’m so sorry I yelled,

Look, the sun is shining,

Let it bring back the smiling

On both of us, in this bad morning.”

Hope you enjoyed. Next post will be Part Two of my collection. Baby Poems are lot of fun. Hope you agree!

Some time now (1,5 years to be precise…age of my daughter) I had a great opportunity to search the miracle of parenthood. I’m a father and so proud of it. Own child is a greatest gift what you can ever get. If you, dear reader are a parent, I hope you feel the same way.

I have noticed some lack of confidence among parents I know. From my short experience I can say that raising a child is not always like dancing in daylight, but here is some activity advice you might want to try. Have you ever heard about baby poems? It’s the aspect of literacy that no parent should miss. And it’s helpful too…not a life saver, but good way to spend time.

Poetry it self is sometimes quite hard to understand. You need to think what you are reading. Every time you read a regular poem you might find some new meanings to it. Baby poems are not like that at all. It’s simple, from heart, with love and easy to understand. Anyone can write them. Even you! Here is what I mean:

“Why you cry,

Alone in there,

Come and hug me,

You know I care.

Together we heal,

Every wound you got,

So come to hug me,

I missed you so much!”

You can probably catch the ideal situation for this baby poem. You can make these up as many as you can for every different situation. I think its better way to calm or comfort your child with a poem than just ordinary order “Calm down now:” Ok, that needs some talent, but practice makes the master.

If you are indeed a parent you should at least try this out. I think these might work even with bigger children (up to teenage at least…). Baby poems are lot of fun to read and write no matter how old you are.
